About This Tool

A waveform view shows the amplitude of your audio over time — useful for spotting silence, sudden peaks, or finding a specific moment to edit. This tool decodes your audio file with the Web Audio API and draws the complete waveform, with zoom and scroll controls to inspect any section closely.

How to Use This Tool

Step 1 — Upload an audio file. The full waveform renders automatically.

Step 2 — Use the Zoom slider to magnify a section.

Step 3 — Use the Scroll Position slider to move through the zoomed-in view.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Uploading very large files. Extremely long audio files can take longer to decode in the browser — for quick checks, trim to a shorter section first if possible.

Can I export the waveform image?

Right-click the canvas and use "Save image as" in most browsers to save a snapshot of the current view.

Does this play the audio too?

This tool focuses on visualizing the waveform. Use the Audio Frequency Visualizer if you want playback with a live spectrum display.
