About This Tool

Blurring an image is useful for backgrounds, thumbnails, censoring sensitive details, or creating a bokeh-style effect. This tool applies a live Gaussian blur to your image directly in the browser using the Canvas API.

How to Use This Tool

Step 1 — Upload an image.

Step 2 — Drag the blur slider and watch the preview update instantly.

Step 3 — Download the blurred image once you're happy with the result.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Blurring too much for the use case. A background blur usually looks best between 5–15px. Higher values work well for censoring details.

Blurring low-resolution images. Heavy blur on small images can look pixelated — start from a higher-resolution original when possible.

Is the blurred image saved anywhere?

No, everything happens locally in your browser. The image is never uploaded.

Can I blur just part of an image?

This tool blurs the whole image. For partial blur, crop out the section first with the Image Crop Tool.
